  • Detail

Trichodiadema bulbosum is a native shrub of South Africa. Belonging to the Aizoaceae family, this houseplant is best grown as an African bonsai tree. African bonsai or Miniature Desert Rose is its common name. It has a distinct caudex that grows underground but finally comes up that bears numerous wiry branches, all covered in small fleshy leaves with soft white bristles. The plant blossoms into pink flowers from Spring to summer with a yellow center. This winter-dormant plant loves sheltered sun growing happily between 30 to 60 cm tall.

    Watering and Feeding
The first tip for Trichodiadema bulbosum care is that it should be watered only when the soil is dry. During winter, the watering should be even less.

    Soil

    Hardiness
The hardiness zone of the Trichodiadema bulbosum bonsai is 9b to 10b. This succulent is not cold-hardy.

    Light
